Pleckgate Year 7 pupils have now each got their own iPads provided by school.
With more than 280 pupils starting at Pleckgate in September, the iPads were distributed recently and are now being used in most lessons.
Head of Year 7 Mr Pickup said: “All subjects use them to set homework and also provide lessons for students who may be absent from school so they don’t miss out.
“They also set homework using Google Classroom and pupils submit work using the same app.”
“In PE and in Year teams, we use the iPads to promote extra-curricular activities and successes throughout.”
They are a mixture of recycled and new iPads, but are all relatively new with just two years maximum use on them.
