Incredible Charity Bubble Rush Event at Pleckgate

Pleckgate High School played host to around 500 people who took part in East Lancashire Hospice’s incredible Bubble Rush Event.

Families had their faces painted by Sparkle Me Up and wore tutus and oversized glasses as they ran through colourful bubble stations in the bank holiday sunshine – raising cash for the local charity.  This is the first time a Bubble Rush event has been held in East Lancashire and organisers were delighted with how it went at Pleckgate.

Leanne Green, Event Fundraiser at East Lancashire Hospice, said: “It has been a fantastic day. We would like to thank everyone who has taken part, and say a special thank you to our sponsors The Cardboard Box Company and Ultraframe Home Improvements for sponsoring the bubble stations, Ronset and  Albert Harrison for sponsoring the t-shirts, Al Imdaad foundation for providing the medals. Their support ensures all the money raised from events such as this goes direct to patient care. I would slso like to take the opportunity to thank East Ribble District Freemasons for their support and Connect UK for providing food and drinks and H A Clarksons and Tesco Great Harwood who donated the water.

“Not only has the event been great fun, but all sponsor money collected will also provide vital funds for the hospice, that will go towards providing care and support for our patients and their families in Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn and the Ribble Valley who are coping with a life-limiting illness.

“It was great to see so many happy, smiling faces and we will be doing it again next year.”
People travelled from all over Lancashire to take part in the event at Pleckgate.
The event, held on the playing fields included different coloured bubble checkpoints to run through for plenty of foamy fun, plus a few surprises along the way.
The event was hosted by Paul and Olly from 2BR Radio Station, and there was live entertainment on the day from Fandjango.

East Lancashire Hospice offers a 10-bed inpatient unit for those who need it, day patient services, hospice at home care and bereavement support.
The entry fee included a t-shirt, a medal and live entertainment, as well as access to the Charity Village.
