Our Art Department welcomed Year 2 St Gabriel’s Primary School pupils to enhance their art experience.
St Gabriel’s have been working on a seaside theme so Art Teacher Mrs Wilson organised a lesson where the pupils used a mixture of media to create their own sealife collage.
“We want to establish even more links with primary schools so this was an ideal way to do it,” said Mrs Wilson.
“It’s enjoyable and fun for the pupils while they are learning different techniques such as cutting, marbling and making a collage. They have really embraced it.”
Year 2 Zayd said: “I have enjoyed using swirling paints. It’s been fun.”
Alana said: “I do crafting with my grandma on Sundays so this has been fun, cutting and painting.”
Year 9 Haniya, along with a number of other Pleckgate pupils, helped the lesson run smoothly.
She said: “I was selected by Mrs Wilson to help out and it’s been fun. I enjoy helping out and I enjoy art so it’s been good.”
Mrs Cross at St Gabriel’s added: “The pupils have been so excited. It’s been enjoyable and It’s good to link up with Pleckgate and be part of a big school community.”
