Manchester City 3 v 1 Tottenham Hotspur

Thanks to the hard work of Mr Pickup, Mr Haworth, Mr Livesey, Mr Ainsworth and Miss Sim, 40 Pleckgate pupils enjoyed a magical night at the Etihad Stadium as Manchester City bid a fond farewell to one of the finest players to grace the Premier League, Kevin De Bruyne.
The iconic White Stripes anthem Seven Nation army was the song of the evening, belted out with gusto by the Pleck-Nation army who were being rewarded for their good behaviour and commitment to PE and school life.

Mr Haworth captured the sun setting over the impressive Etihad Stadoium and this evening was all about the sun setting on De Bruyne’s 10-year City career which has reaped an amazing 19 titles.

The pupils entered into the spirit of the evening bedecked in City sky blue, draped in De Bruyne scarves and one pupil resplendent in that Manchester fashion staple – the bucket hat.

It was an entertaining game against Bournemouth which the Pleckgate pupils thoroughly enjoyed as City ran out 3-1 winners.

After the game, the fans from as far away as Korea and Uruguay were treated to an amazing light show and clips reel of De Bryune’s many moments of sheer brilliance over the decade.

De Bruyne said: “Titles are nice and everything that he has achieved, but when you leave after 10 years with this much respect and gratitude, there is nothing else better than that.”

Hopefully the watching Pleckgate pupils will remember this night and that powerful message on how to live for the rest of their lives.
