Year 7 pupils talked about their love of books on World Book Day.
Year 7 Oliver said: “My favourite book is ‘Diary of Wimpy Kid’. I like the story, I like funny books.”
Aleena said: “I like horror books, they have a lot of mystery and are scary. I love English.”
Aamenah added: “I like the Dork Diaries and my favourite author is Rachel Rene Russell. I like the drama of them.”
Librarian Mrs Hanson has organised a number of competitions.
There is the Design a Bookmark, which is a national competition from National Book Tokens. This year the theme is ‘Read Your Way.’
There is also an in-school ‘Picture This’ competition where pupils can take a photo in an unusual place of them reading a book.
Year 7s also have their own ‘Design a Bookmark’ competition in form time.
