Desmond Callaghan (Chair)
Des has been the Headteacher of St. Bede’s RC High School since 2008. St Bede’s is a successful and oversubscribed 11-16 high school in the west of Blackburn. The school was judged ‘good’ in its last Ofsted and consistently achieves outcomes for its students which are significantly above the national average. He has played a key leadership role in Blackburn and Darwen having been the Chair of the Education Improvement Partnership (EIP) and a member of the Local Strategic Partnership Board which develops links between schools and business. Des has provided leadership support for other local schools as an executive headteacher. He a mentor for future leaders through the NPQH programme and the Diocese of Salford. He also has experience of management consultancy within the private sector.

Mike Chester (Vice Chair)
Mike is a qualified accountant (ACMA) living in Blackburn. He has worked in roles offering challenge and support in both practice and industry for over 30 years.

Hussain Hassan
Hussain Hassan is currently Assistant Principal at Tauheedul Islam Boys’ High School (TIBHS) which was judged ‘outstanding’ during its last Ofsted inspection and is also, one of the fast growing family of Tauheedul Education Trust schools. He has been involved in governance for some ten years, mainly at a local primary school and now at Pleckgate High school. Hussain has three children, all of whom have studied at the school.

Dan Lord
Dan is currently House Continent Leader at Rhyddings Business and Enterprise school, where he leads on the pastoral welfare of years 7-10 including monitoring progress of students welfare and attainment. Previously Head of Education at Blackburn Rovers Community Trust, holding the post from January 2014-August 2017 and before that, Dan was a PE teacher at Accrington Academy.

Shabnum Makba (Parent Governor)
Shabnum has been in education for 14 years, having started out as a teaching assistant and then qualifying as a teacher in 2013. She works as a class teacher at Roe Lee Park primary school and is familiar with the role of different people in the education of our children. She has four children, two of whom are currently studying at the school and one having left in 2017. She is extremely committed and passionate about the education that children receive at Pleckgate.  Shabnum is leading on the Parent Partnership Award and hopes that parents will take an active part in this.

Sharon Roscoe
Sharon is Chief Executive of the EPT and project managed the successful opening of The Heights Alternative Provision Free School and Eden School. She is Vice Chair of the governing body for St. Barnabas & St. Pauls’ CE Primary School. Sharon worked as Strategic Manager (Operations) for CXL and Area Manager for Connexions Lancashire Ltd. She graduated as MBA in 2011 from Lancaster University.

Jonathan Georgy
Jonathan is the Chief Finance Officer working for the Education Partnership Trust. Jonathan’s work experience includes working as an auditor within various industries before specialising within Academy audits. Prior to joining the Education Partnership Trust Jonathan worked for over 3 years as the Financial Accountant for a large Multi-Academy Trust. Jonathan qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2012 and has associated professional qualifications.
