Desmond Callaghan
Des is Headteacher of St. Bede’s RC High School which was judged ‘good’ with ‘outstanding’ features in its last Ofsted. Since 2009 he has played a leading role as Chair of the EIP, which enables schools to work in partnership to raise achievement across the borough. Des is also Chair of the Education Partnership Multi-Academy Trust which successfully opened an Alternative Provision Free School in September 2013. He is member of the Schools Forum and a Head Teacher Associate for the Catholic Diocese of Salford. Des also works as a management consultant in the private sector.

Mike Chester (Vice Chair)
Mike is a qualified accountant (ACMA) living in Blackburn. He has worked in roles offering challenge and support in both practice and industry for over 30 years.

Hussain Hassan
Hussain Hassan is currently Assistant Principal at Tauheedul Islam Boys’ High School (TIBHS) which was judged ‘outstanding’ during its last Ofsted inspection and is also, one of the fast growing family of Tauheedul Education Trust schools. He has been involved in governance for some ten years, mainly at a local primary school and now at Pleckgate High school. Hussain has three children, two of whom have studied at the school and his daughter is now in her final year.

Ian Kendrick
Ian has 40 years experience in the education and school improvement sector. Based on a successful teaching and senior management career in schools, he subsequently went on to advisory work in school improvement, including Ofsted inspections. Ian led school improvement teams in 4 different Local Authorities and was Deputy Director for Children’s Services in two of these LAs. Having taken “semi-retirement” Ian now works as an independent consultant with a small number of primary and secondary schools. He is a governor on one primary school and is chair of governors in a secondary academy.

Dan Lord
Dan is currently Head of Education at Blackburn Rovers Community Trust, holding the post since January 2014. Along with heading up the FE provision within the trust, he also works closely with local Primary and Secondary schools on educational projects the Trust delivers to a wide range of pupils on varying subjects, including delivery of The Heights Free School’s KS4 PE at BRFC and health projects to KS3. Previous to this Dan was a PE teacher at Accrington Academy.

Sharon Roscoe
Sharon is Chief Executive of the EPT and project managed the successful opening of The Heights Alternative Provision Free School and Eden School. She is Vice Chair of the governing body for St. Barnabas & St. Pauls’ CE Primary School. Sharon worked as Strategic Manager (Operations) for CXL and Area Manager for Connexions Lancashire Ltd. She graduated as MBA in 2011 from Lancaster University.

Michael Bradshaw
Michael is the Financial Controller of the Education Partnership Trust. Michael moved to the Trust in November 2016 having worked in the commercial sector for over 12 years and previously as an audit professional. He is an ACA qualified accountant and member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAEW), and graduated with a BSc in Mathematics from Durham University. Michael brings a wide range of financial knowledge and business acumen from a commercial setting.
