School Council

Pleckgate School Council is a representative body for the students at Pleckgate. It consists of two students from each form in years 7-11, a group of Senior Prefects in Year 11 are also involved in leading the Student Council

School Council Representatives are elected by their peers.  The Council meets once a term to discuss specific and relevant issues that have been raised by students. A number of issues and topics have been on the agenda this year:

  • Raising money for charity.
  • School environment
  • School trips
  • School uniform

These discussions have resulted in some key actions:

  • Students agreed new uniform
  • Creation of Pleckgate Shared Values
  • Creation of the ‘Peace Charter’ working with other local schools
