Anne Frank Trust Annual Lunch 2024

Pleckgate’s Anne Frank Ambassadors had the amazing experience of attending the Anne Frank Trust Annual Lunch in London.

It’s an event held every year to mark Holocaust Memorial Day with journalist Jo Coburn hosting the lunch and author Sir Michael Morpurgo the guest speaker. The aim of the Anne Frank Trust is to empower young people between ages 9-15 to challenge all forms of prejudice such as antisemitism, Islamophobia and sexism.

Head of Religion and World Views Mrs Savage said: “Our girls were amazing!

“Shaheen and Maryam got up on the stage and gave speeches in front of 500 people. They were like celebrities, we couldn’t walk two paces without someone coming up to them and telling them how inspiring and wonderful they are.

“I am feeling extremely proud.

“Maryam was also one of the main stars of the film they showed about the Ambassador Programme and Pleckgate featured heavily throughout it.”

The girls had the chance to meet Michael Morpurgo and also returned with a signed copy of ‘Friend or Foe’ as a gift from the Anne Frank Trust.
