Study came to life for the pupils at Pleckgate High School as they enjoyed a performance of “Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.” The book, by Robert Louis Stevenson, is the GCSE literature text studied by all Year 11 pupils.
The Manchester Actors’ Company put on a stunning performance at Pleckgate, keeping the pupils on the edge of their seats.
“We wanted to give our pupils a visual experience to help develop their knowledge and understanding of a challenging novel,” said English teacher Jane Lippitt. “The Manchester Actors’ Company also held Question and Answer session with some of the pupils to discuss the themes of the novel so hopefully it will help them in their literature exam.”
